About Us

ABS* Latin Promotions has been founded by Annie Bazán-De-Fisher A Peruvian and International Cultural Awards Winner and is a voluntary and a non-profit making organisation created to introduce, promote and share the Music, Dance, Arts and general culture of the Latin American continent.

The main objectives of the organization are:

1) To promote the Latin American Culture in general.

2) To organize events such as:
a) Festivals, Carnivals
b) Music and Dance Workshops
c) Educational Workshops and Talks
d) Fiestas, etc.

3) To give assistance and advise to any organization, institution or society or to any individual who enquire about the Latin American Culture.

4) To liaise with other organizations/societies, businesses etc. in order to create and increase the Latin feeling within the Community.

5) To offer any kind of advice in issues concerning the Latin American heritage, rain forest environment and music backgrounds to students, professionals, businesses, organizations, charities and any others.

6) To help and contribute the promotion of the Latin American and Afro/Latin musicians, dancers and artists in general throughout events, workshops, concerts, festivals, talks, performances etc.

7) To deliver all events and activities to everyone and to all different cultures i.e. Black Caribbean, Chinese, Arabs, Afro Caribbean, Europeans, Pakistanis, Hindus, English, etc. Latin American Culture embraces all cultures of the world.

8) To communicate effectively, positively and amicable with members from other communities.

9) To contribute to the enhancement of the multicultural image and society for which the City of Birmingham and the West Midlands are well known for.

ABS* Latin Promotions is the sole organizer of Birmingham's Annual Latin American Festival - and the best Latin events throughout the West Midlands and the UK. such as Latin America 2000 (Chamberlain Sq.) Contigo Peru (London), Fiesta Latina (Centenary Sq.) Latin Carnival (Birmingham), Entertainment & support was provided to the G8 Summit (Victoria Square, Birmingham, May 1998), The World Disability Olympics (Alexander Stadium, Birmingham), Discovery Day (Birmingham City Centre), Winterval (Victoria Square Birmingham), The International Lord Mayor's Show (Centenary Square, Birmingham 1999), The Millennium Celebration (Centenary Square, Birmingham), The BCLA International Conference (Hilton - NEC, Birmingham), the Hope Project charity event at the Dorchester Hotel, London, The Latin Fiesta 2003 (Mailbox, Birmingham), The Queen's Golden Jubilee - Latin Festival, Salsa Festival Mailbox 2005, Viva Latin America - Marriot Hotel, London 2005, and many others.

* England Arts Council Award 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007.
* "The Queen's Golden Jubilee Award For all 2001
* Awards For All 2001 and 2002.
* Millennium Lottery Award 2000
* Peruvian National Congress Cultural Award (Vizcardo y Guzman Medal) 2000.
* A very prestigious Peruvian Cultural Award (Silver Plate) was given to Annie Bazán De Fisher, founder of ABS*Latin Promotions in recognition for the excellent cultural voluntary work.
